Got rust on your tire studs? No worries, it's normal and will come off as you ride.

Studded tires come with spikes made of either steel or tungsten carbide, the latter being more durable and long lasting.

As the studs meet the salt on the roads they will develop some rust but as long as they remain firmly embedded in the tire tread there is nothing to worry about.

When you buy a new studded tire the first thing you should do is ride carefully with the tire during dry conditions and/or check every stud to make sure each is seated properly and not breaking off the tire.

Note: There was a little snow later that night but I couldn't get any video of it because I was really sick in bed after filming this video.

I shouldn't have been yelling on a bike with a sore throat in freezing temps.

    lol
