Is it important to match the correct bike tube size with proper bike tire size? Yes, kinda.
Your mileage may vary, but you can cheat a little by installing a tube one size smaller than the recommended size.
Stretching a tube more could make it more prone to flats and if you need to use a patch kit it may not work as well either.
Why would you do this? Maybe it is all you got.
Maybe it is easier to install.
Maybe it is a easier to carry with you.
Maybe you are a weight weenie.
Maybe it rides better??
Could you install a bigger tube? It might be hard to fit.
Again, why would you?
If you can get the best matching size possible, why not?
